helix
miranda sat quietly,
stolidly, upon age-old varnished oak,
and she spoke to me, saying
sentences which wound through
pathways of thought
as the syllables and the words and the phrases
were a genetic code of communication,
spiraling through space in a double-wound helix,
defining parameters of the spirals,
accelerating through, ever forward,
always more innovative, but never reaching center.

Centripetal Acceleration: the acceleration
that an object undergoes
when revolving in a
circular, elliptical, or helical fashion.

each word was a codon for meaning, for proteins which
build thought and empathy.
of course, this is what she made me think of,
as she rambled on without apparent purpose.
